Notes
Mick's father. Son of Jeremiah 'Darby' Vaughan + Bridget Minogue. Married Bridget Fitzgerald 17 Jan 1839 St Munchin's (witnesses: Martin Fitzgerald, Timothy Clancy, Patrick Halloran). Death confirmed via Mick's pedigree PDF. Born c.1815 Limerick City (son of Jeremiah and Bridget Minogue, who had moved into the city from Cloonusker). Married Bridget Fitzgerald at St Munchin's RC Church on 17 January 1839 — Rev. M McCormack officiating, witnesses Martin Fitzgerald, Timothy Clancy, Patrick Halloran [stmunchins-marriage-1839]. Died 10 March 1867 in Limerick, leaving Bridget a widow with ten children for eighteen years. Primary evidence: the 1839 parish marriage register (descendant-report transcription) and civil death record (pending confirmation; civil registration began 1864 — his death is borderline-indexed on irishgenealogy.ie for interactive session access). Round-2: Mt St Lawrence plot Vaughan 1883 (Daa20/2739) contains Mary Vaughan d. 12 Jul 1883 aged 50 (b.~1833), with grandchild Joseph Burns d. 1884 buried alongside. Generation and death-year alignment strongly suggests Mary is a younger sister or sister-in-law of Daniel Vaughan (1815). This is the highest-quality lead for extending the paternal Vaughan line laterally. Plot Vaughan 1920 (John 1855–1936 + Bridget 1858–1940) was also investigated; the generation gap (Mick b.1850, John b.1855) and Limerick-Leader obituary corroboration make John a probable cousin of Mick rather than a brother.
